***Hello!  Please note that I am not taking orders for mugs at this time.  My husband is ill and I haven't been able to get into the studio.  I'm sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Thank you!  Love & Light, Diana 8-27-19***

Lori's Housewarming Gift

My Sister In Law just went through a divorce and finally just moved into her new home, so I made her a plate/bowl set with roses. I used my husband's wood bowl blanks (he used to turn wood bowls on his jumbo lathe) that had gone oval in drying as the molds. They are wonky shaped and very fun to eat from. After I finish up my custom orders I will be making sets for my shops (in various designs as well as plain).

"Made to Order" Orders Update--starting from Feb. 3rd +

Hello, Friends!  How is everyone?  I've been pretty darn tired lately and I'm sure I'm not the only one.  I hope you all are happy and healthy!

"Made to Order" Orders Update--starting from Feb. 3rd +

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  Finished putting handles on everything I have thrown (so far) last night.  Now they will dry slowly on the raised plaster bats that my husband made for me.  I keep them covered with plastic on the top and the air gets underneath to allow the plaster to do it's job of 'sucking' the mositure slowly out of the pots.  If you don't cover them up for a few days and do this, the handles might crack off.  Tricky business!

Vase update

Put handles on the big flower vase last night; I think it looks like a 'trophy' now.  Didn't want to leave it plain.  We'll see how it looks glazed.

Feels so good!

Wow, it felt really good to throw something "big" last night! After I threw a bunch of mugs, I grabbed 3 pounds of clay and wedged it. Didn't know what I wanted to make...a bowl? a plate? Half way through centering I decided to make a vase as all our flowers are blooming now that it's warm again. This baby will hold lots of flowers!

New Batch started!

Hello, friends!  After spending all day Saturday packing up the last load of pots, I finally got back into the studio to throw on Sunday--yay!  I enjoy all the steps of creating pottery and by the end I can't wait to get back in and start the whole process over.  So, here's a picture of what I threw Sunday afternoon after I trimmed them last night.  It's not "alot" but I was pretty tired by Sunday; that full moon really knocked me out!  NOTE:  This batch starts with orders placed starting Feb.

"B" Load finished! Packing up pots now...

(Note: "B" Load is the second group of pots on orders received up to Feb. 2nd)

Dear Friends:  Hello!  I actually loaded the kiln at midnight last night and got up a few times during the night to turn it up.  (Don't have a computerized one, I have a manual kiln).  So, this load is done now and I'm starting to pack up pots tonight.  If your mug is in this load you will get an email with your tracking# in the next couple of days.

B Load decorated...

Just got the "B" load all decorated--yay!  Will fire tomorrow, the last firing for this group.  The last firing is a low fire (cone 04) and will "burn" the iron oxide of the laser toner into the glaze, making the designs permanent.

B Load glaze fire done!

Hello, friends!  The "B-Load" orders up to Feb. 2nd are finished with their glaze fire.  I unloaded the kiln this afternoon and they are still cooling.  I'm going to start putting their designs on tonight; it will take me a couple of evenings, I'm estimating.  Then I'll fire them again (low fire to cone 04) to make the designs permanent.

Order Update: Orders up to Feb. 2nd - B Load

Hello, friends!  Happy Friday the 13th!  Now that I got all the pots from the "A Load" shipped out, I'm glazing those pots in the "B Load" -- those pots that I couldn't fit into the kiln with the first group.  I'm hoping to finish glazing this weekend and then I'll high fire them in the kiln.  If your order was placed before Feb. 2nd and you haven't received an email with your tracking# yet, your pot is in this batch.  Thank you for your patience!
